Center was found to be lax in having current lesson plans, and curriculum was deemed not to be age appropriate- there were beautiful, parent-pleasing “projects” on the walls not listed in lesson plans, nor from an accepted curriculum, nor were they age appropriate. Items looked to be only “teacher made” to perfection, with the names of children falsely written on them. Children were not allowed to go to centers, an entire class was observed all doing 1 “project” at the same time, sitting behind tables; the “project” was not a venue for creativity- it was from “X, Y, Z”, a popular online site, and not from an approved curriculum, getting the center these violations:
• A written daily schedule of program activities and routines which offer reasonable regularity, and activities which provide children with opportunities for learning and self-expression in small and large groups is required. 47.67(b)
and:
• Children shall not be allowed to remain sedentary or to sit passively for more than 30 minutes continuously, except during scheduled rest or naptime.
