Very excellent book for my 1th great daughter. She's immediately began to solve problem and she really like it. In the book you can improve both reading and math skills, which make children thinking.

I was (and my daughter) very pleased with this book. The book is organized by week and composed of a set of simple world problem that are not too challenging but perfect to make sure that the particular topics are well understood. Every class of problem is seen multiple times allowing the child to get comfortable in areas that needs a little more work.

My first-grader loves math and was super excited about this book. I really like the way it is divided into weeks and days. You don't have to argue with your kids about how many more math problems they have to do :) Done with week one, day one problems? Move on to reading/playing, whatever. They also have over 500 minutes of video explanations. So if math is not your thing, watch the videos! There's also an option to have a live chat with a tutor between 8am-6pm EST, mon-sun (which is awesome for working parents!). I'm glad the tutor is available on the weekends as we live on the west coast and I work ~50hrs/week...anyway, over all I am very happy with this workbook. Will purchase other grades once we need them.

My 5th grader is in advanced math class who was struggling with it for the last couple of months. I started to look for ways to help her, but my problem is that I don't know her curriculum at all as I was taught differently. This book helped us to improve her grades as it has a clear explanation, a bit too easy for her sometimes but based on my experience she's got easy part wrong. I like the logic of this course book. So far so good. I am thinking about buying 6 grade for summer.

This is a very handy book to have in our household, not only for my kids but also for me. I was pretty good at math when I was in school, so I used to be able to help my kids with their homework. Since they’ve fully instituted the common core, however, I’ve been having trouble explaining things since their teachers and their textbooks are using substantially different means of getting to the answers these days.

What I like about this book is that it’s aligned to the Common Core Curriculum and references video explanations at the Argo Brother's video website [address listed under the Math Workbook Video Explanations, 7th Grade Common Core Math (Multiple Choice)] with answers to all of the questions. I had already been searching online for video explanations of math problems my kids have been bringing home. Now I no longer have to go hunting to random websites looking for answers. Each of the Argo Brothers’ videos corresponds with a Week and Day assignment sheet in the workbook. The video narrator goes through the problems on every page and solves each of them while showing the work alongside the problems. As of this writing, the 7th Grade Common Core Math (Multiple Choice) had 91 uploaded videos. I did notice, however, that the videos for Week 10 and 11 are not currently available. We didn’t have much trouble with those questions, so it wasn’t a big deal for us, but it would be good if they uploaded them as well.

I also like what the workbook offers for my kids. There are 20 weeks worth of daily multiple choice practice problems, followed by weekly assessments. The daily practice has helped my 7th grader get comfortable and more confident with the material in class without getting overwhelmed. It’s too bad that I got this book so late in the school year. I think my 7th grader would have really benefited from doing the daily practices throughout the year (or even the summer before 7th grade). I plan to get the other books for my younger child to use as a bridge to the next school year. I just wish Argo Brothers had a Grade 8 Workbook available!

This is a great learning book for my daughter. A font is easily readable and tasks are explained in picture and text! For sure this is the best price/quality Math book I have ever met.

There are a lot of opinions about common core. That it is bad and or good. My personal opinion is that math is everywhere same math. If you want to follow common core way of teaching then just do it, if not then teach in your own way. This book is good for both. It is very conveniently divided into 20 weeks, day by day activities. For those who follow common core they have put standards. A lot of questions has graphics, photos and illustrations. At the end of book there is an Assessment followed by the answer key. If you want to see more detailed answer, then you can easily watch it online. I like their approach. Will definitely buy other grades as well.

When choosing a math workbook, I’m usually looking for one simple thing: each topic is represented by a large amount of exercises.
The “large” is extremely important as in math, like in many other fields of study, “repetition is the path to mastery”.
Having tried numerous books, I can definitely say that this one (actually these two Part I and Part II) deserves a place on my table.
The book is well organized and covers all material required for the 3rd grade Common Core.
The multiple choice questions (Part I) contain fairly large amount of word problems, which is big part of CC,
and the free response part (Part II) does have some challenging questions.
What I like the most is its reasonably-sized daily exercises, which, if done daily, definitely improve results.

Thank you! One of my favorite publishers for math workbooks for students. I have many of their books and have been consistently pleased with the quality and number of resources they provide. The workbooks include more than enough practice problems for your child to work through during the school year and the book comes along with their online website access. To my knowledge, all of their workbooks come with video explanations on their website. Some instructor reviews question by question making this an essential workbook to have for all parents and teachers. As a parent who has used their books for my kids and continue to do so, I highly recommend this brand.

I love these series of math books. My children find them very informative and interesting that have lots of very good math problems. The book's of very high quality too.

It is a solid math practice book with excellent explanations but it does not replace a textbook. It is a good practice book for extra assignments, would not recommend as the primary source. Many problems are not complex enough. Compare it with your state's standards explanations before making a final decision. This also has only multiple choice questions; it is part 1 of a set.

I usually use Singapore Math or Kumon workbooks for my children. I had purchased this one just to try out for my advanced kindergartener. I was pleasantly surprised. The book is organized by days/weeks, that way a child can do a little every day, and it is not overwhelming. The problems have nice visualization with counters at the beginning of the book. At the end of the book, there are bar models used for more complex problems. I definitely liked the word problems as well, which are easy to read even for my five year old. Overall, I am thrilled with my purchase. And you cannot beat the price!

So, I’m on of those parents who was puzzled by first grader’s common core math. Joined the club! I had to google for common core strategies for couple of my son’s homeworks, and then decided to get a book, so I have something close and always available. So far, I love this book, love how it’s organized, and definitely clarifies common cor puzzles for me

My daughter is in kindergarten and needs some math practice. This book helps us do that. I tried four math books and this one is the best. It is also the only one she could do. It has a good number of practice questions. One thing that is really good about this book and Argo is that the lessons have video tutorials. When I travel for work I can work the problems with her by Skype or Facetime. This enables us to plan a few precious minutes to interact when I am not home.

My daughter loves the math word problems. She is still in kindergarten and some of the math is still a little hard for her. That is why we go over the exercises together and once I explain it to her, she likes solving the problems. I actually like the part that the math problems are challenging and are not too easy. I would recommend this book!

Great workbook with daily/weekly practice. It also explains the algorithm at the bottom of the page. I do find that it’s a bit different than what my son learns in school. His teacher goes by the Pearson Education curriculum, but those books are very expensive. Overall very satisfied and also bought the second workbook for 2nd graders.

About one month ago I ordered four math books published by Argo Brothers Publishing – Math 3rd Grade Common Core Workbook (Part 1 and Part 2), and Math 5th Grade Common Core Workbook (Part 1 and Part 2). Being a Math Tutor I always check different additional sources to help my students to be successful on the tests, especially based on Common Core. Usually I search Internet looking for Test Preparation information, and then compiling worksheets for different topics. It is hard work, because there is a lot of outdated information with different point of view on the same subject. I found almost everything I need in those books! Part 1 has a hundreds multiple choice questions which cover different topics, and Part 2 requires writing answers, which is much harder, and makes a student to analyze, and formulate his answer in proper way. Guessing doesn’t work! All the books are well structured based by days and weeks, which can help with the planning of studying. I started to utilize those books in my tutoring process, and I’m very happy with the result – it saves my time and effort, and I have big source of worksheets wit the answer keys in one place! I would recommend those books to parents of my students as a perfect guide to be successful on Common Core exams. I’d like to order the book Math 7th Grade Common Core Workbook (Part 1 and Part 2) in near future.
